Our Mission Statement:
Michigan Military Moms – Livingston County Chapter is a non-profit organization founded on the pride we have for our sons and daughters serving The United States of America in each Military Service Branch. We believe it is important to stress that we are not a political organization and do not address our independent views of the war or other conflicts in which the United States of America may be engaged.
With the United States Military currently deployed to more locations than it has been throughout history, we felt this to be an ideal time to introduce a military support to our county and its surrounding areas.
Michigan Military Moms is not intended to replace the Family Readiness Groups that each military branch has in place, rather to enhance that support through local awareness and appreciation of our local military personnel.
Michigan Military Moms originally started in Dearborn, Michigan just after 9/11 and has branched out to a number of areas across the State of Michigan.
Our mission is simply to provide support and encouragement to each other as our sons & daughters embark on their military journeys, to provide information & reliable resources about the military, including deployment & support assistance, and to honor hour military heroes.
Our goal is to induct each member by presenting them with a Blue Star Service Flag and information packet. The Blue Star Service Flag is the official banner authorized by the Department of Defense for display by families who have members serving in the Armed Forces during any period of war or hostility. The history of the flag is as patriotic and touching as the symbolism each star represents to the families who display them.
The color of the stars is symbolic in that the Blue Star represents hope and pride, and the Gold Star represents sacrifice to the cause of liberty and freedom by our fallen heroes.
The Livingston Chapter of Michigan Military Moms welcomes and embraces Gold Star mothers to our support organization.
Our vision is to bring qualified speakers to our meetings and to address concerns and answer questions about our deployed troops and the military in general.
