Dear Marine Corps Family,

patriotic spirit and thank all the veterans and military
personnel and their families for their sacrifices to
protect freedom.
We've got a few battalions gearing up for
homecoming. Check out the bottom of the newsletter
for our homecoming T-shirts for 1/1, 1/7, and 3/5.

3/4 at Diyala Bridge

The famous photo of the 3/4 at Diyala Memorialized in Statue
Members of 3/4 and their families gathered in
Washington DC recently for the dedication of the
statue which has been created to commemorate the
Diyala Bridge engagement. The Takahashi photograph
on which the statue is based quickly became one of
the most recognized images from the early days of
Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The statue's home will be in the Commandant's Office.

Passion of Command
Passion of Command: The Moral Imperative of
Leadership, By Colonel Bryan P. McCoy
I highly recommend this book to every parent of
a Marine. You will read a first-hand account of what
your Marine's commander teaches and instills in the
hearts and minds of our Marines. You will come away
with an understanding of the love and brotherhood of
the Marine Corps; from the battalion commander to
the privates.
All proceeds from the sale of this book go to the
Semper Fi Wounded Marine Fund.

Video Photos from San Diego
During bootcamp, your recruit will have an
opportunity to have his/her photo taken as a platoon
as well as individually in the "dress blues" uniform. A
video of graduation is also produced, and that video
included footage from each battalion. Both Parris
Island and San Diego offer these service. In San
Diego, the producers of the video also put the
platoon footage online for the parents, family and
friends back home to review.
