2nd Combat Engineer Battalion (2nd CEB)

Bases and Stations: Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune
The mission of the 2nd CEB is to be equipped, trained and
organized, to quickly deploy and conduct successful combat
engineering support to the division. They are the
principle source of mobility, counter mobility, and
engineering reconnaissance expertise for the division.
They achieve these objectives though an energized and
managed training and maintenance program in order to
deploy at a moment’s notice.
The Combat Engineer Battalion performs the following
tasks:
Plan, organize and conduct mounted/dismounted
deliberate breaching operations at the Company level.
Plan, organize and conduct mounted/dismounted
deliberate breaching operations at the Company, Battalion
and Regimental level.
Plan, organize and employ expedient and deliberate
demolitions.
Plan, organize and conduct route/area sweeping
operations.
Plan, organize and construct explosive and non
explosive obstacle systems.
Plan, organize and construct hasty and deliberate
protective and tactical minefields.
Plan, organize and construct a point minefield.
Plan, organize and construct fighting and protective
positions.
Plan, organize and employ force protection measures.
Plan, organize and provide missions essential water and
electrical support.
Construct and maintain limited combat roads and trails
in support of Division operations.

The Parent Network (PN) is an optional add-on to the newly adopted Marine Corps Family Readiness program. PN is not yet available for this unit. Marine Family Readiness: Under Commandant Conway's guidance, the Marine Corps Family Readiness program has undergone some changes in 2008. Every battalion has a FRO (Family Readiness Officer) who is responsible for providing information to spouses, parents and family members of our deployed Marines. The KV or Key Volunteer program is being phased out.
FRO Structure: The primary source of unit/battalion information for spouses AND parents is the FRO and Unit Hotline. The FRO will work with FR Assistants, FR Advisors and FR Volunteers along with the senior command members to make up the new Family Readiness Command Team.
Optional Parent Network: As part of the Family Readiness Program, each Marine Corps unit can opt to form a Parent Network (PN) for Marine Corps families as well. We'll provide information for the PN on this Unit Information Page™ (UIP) with approval from the unit's FRO only.
