National Volunteer Week is April 12-18 this year. Organizations around the country this week are committed to recognizing the hard work and dedication of those who volunteer, and I want to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers of MarineParents.com, Inc. for their hard work and dedication over the last year. You are the backbone of our organization and nothing we do would be possible without you.
It is the hearts of hundreds of people that make a true impact in our world; it is the hearts of servants who devote their time to making life a little bit easier for others; it is you, that makes a difference for our Marines, troops, and their family members. In his “Drum Major Instinct” sermon, given in 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve...You only need a heart full of grace (and) a soul generated by love.” Thank you for your heart of grace and service of love. Your time and commitment in the organization is a vital contribution to the betterment of lives across the nation.
The President’s Volunteer Service Awards will be given out across the nation in April. During 2014, our volunteers contributed 10,655 hours to the pool of volunteer service hours. We are proud to be presenting 49 awards to 40 volunteers and 9 groups this year. The awards help signify the importance of their work at Marine Parents.
We hope you will have an opportunity to view the wealth of thank you notes and recognition of our volunteers’ service on the website, in social media, and in our newsletters during the National Volunteer Week. Thank you, again, for your work and dedication to the organization, our military and their family members.
God Bless and Semper Fi,
