Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services Event
On Thursday, March 7 the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services (MDoVS) had a presentation on "Battlemind", a program developed at the Walter Reed Army Institute. This program is used by the MDoVS to help combat veterans with their transition as they return from combat. The scheduled speaker was Donald Jarvis, an employee of the MDoVS. MarineParents.com volunteer, Diana Dungan, had previously connected with him and introduced him to the outreach work that our Warrior Support Team does.
Diana was able to speak at the event and she talked about the history of Marine Parents, why the Founder started the organization, and the outreach programs we offer. Diana also displayed our Warrior Reintegration Bag with a sign up sheet for veterans that needed one. The audience consisted of veterans, families, social workers, and physicians. There were veterans ranging from the Vietnam era to post 9/11.
Marine Parents, and Diana Dungan, would like to thank the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services for allowing us to be a part of this event. We hope to have the opportunity to speak at future events as well.
