Gillien (Jill) is a retired police officer with two kids. She spent 30 years helping people through various stages of life and is now able to relax and focus on her kids. Her daughter recently made her a grandma, and her son is a new Marine, waiting for his SOI Class to begin.

Jill learned about MarineParents.com when her son joined the Marine Corps, and his recruiter gave her the training schedule for his boot camp, which had the link to MarineParents.com. She joined her son's Battalion Group and was given all the information she could possibly need to follow her son's journey to becoming a Marine. She found the volunteers helpful, courteous, and always willing to answer any questions. She felt called to become a volunteer so she could pay it forward to future families going through the same process. This allows her to continue following her calling to help people, but this time, it will be in all the stages of having a family member in the Marine Corps.
